Problems with BOINC beta?

Is anyone else having problems with the BOINC beta?

I downloaded the software and activated my account, but nothing happened. I tried to submit a bug report, but couldn’t figure that out :confused: and feel like I can’t spend much more time on this as I’ve lots of work to do (good thing to do when you’re at work)… :smiley:

I had the same problem. I had not stopped seti@home before starting BOINC so perhaps that was the reason?

The installation process seemed quite good but the GUI still needs some attention. I could find no way to change the settings (perhaps they are just well hidden) so I have deinstalled it again for the time being - at least there was a way to do that!

The settings are made on the website under your preferences.

i heard from severall people who hat the same problems.

first by the log in

http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/ap/

is the right URL, and than you personell Key.

Second under Projects, has to stay

Astropulse Beta, right click on this and “Update”.

third, no Firewall or something else is aktive, try a ping

ping maggie.ssl.berkeley.edu or ping setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu

Here is what I get when I try to do what you say, Sir Ulli:

BOINC - 11/20/03 16:09:15 - Suspending computation and file transfer - user is active

I can ping both spots… :confused: Perhaps they’re just not sending out work units right now?
