I’ve been handed a database, (yes another one!) it’s been compiled into an mde file, how can I convert it back to a mdb?
I know it’s simpe but this is a monday morning Question.
Some object can be copied Tables, Queries, Reports typically. Macro’s sometimes but CODE/VBA can’t typically ever be pulled over (FORMS with Code). You’ll need the PASSWORD unless they didn’t use one. The issue always is if the MDE was made it was for a reason!
I can tell you if it’s a simple app…I would try the copy, and rebuild from scatch…if big then buy the source…SAVE YOUR MIND for something else…like hmm BEER!
it was designed and made by some clever clogs who used to work here, now he’s gone, things are broken and there’s no way of fixing them, oh well, time to rebild from scratch and not build it with the ‘security’ features he did.

You could always use a little application from elmcomsoft that will crack office applications. it might cost you something, or maybe not if u know the right places to look.
