buying a motor tomorrow but its road tax just ran out 3 days ago
question is can i use the slip they have sent the previous owner to buy road tax, which has his name and address on it?
and i wont have the full registration document either as it will be sent off to register it to me.
and i gotta wait for the insurance certificate.
Just tell the previous owner not to send off the registration form. He only needs to sign and tear the bottom section off. You can then take the rest into the post office and they will send it off with the new details in.
You will need an insurance certificate though. TBH if you can show that you have applied for this and have all the relevant docs handy including a receipt of purchase you would be very unlucky to be given any hassle.
