It was even colder:
It was also extremely cold initially - with temperatures of minus 40C
Just saw this guy on sky news, you gotta watch it, the footage is cool!!
And who else to sponsor him but Red Bull!
Needs a bit more tuning to be useful but the thought of 6000 asylum seekers a week being fitted with a pair and being told
“France is that way”
as they are catapulted off the Dover cliffs brings a wry smile :chuckle:

Sky News reporter: “So Whats next, the Atlantic?”
Felix Baumgartner: “Erm… I think thats one for the next generation.”
Aaah, Sky News, and your ever-poorly-informed presenters
Actually, I am not all that surprised he made it. It would be one heck of a jump (having skydived myself I can honestly say: Woot! Awesome!)!
Something tells me you fellahs would like it over here in Alberta. Sailplanes seem to get the more extreme stuff…had one fellah take off near Edmonton, Alberta in the morning and land near Winnipeg, Manitoba in the afternoon (haul out a map and you’ll see that is a very long trip for not having an engine!).
Also, down in southern Alberta the mountains let the guys in the sailplanes hit 30,000+ ft after letting go of the tow at 1,500 ft.
Sweet all over
