Still going

April 2010 marked the release of the AMD Phenom II 1090T Black and the Asus Crosshair IV Formula

My main PC is still running this combination. 8 years later…

The case has been changed, it’s had various graphics card and memory went from 4GB to 8GB and now 16GB… and ir still going strongly… And still running 24/7!!!

Can any one beat that???

My own main board that I use for work is a March 2011 build, Sandybridge i7-2600K, had a number of different Ram setups - now 32Gb. Same with GPU, did once run 3 x GTX460, now has 2x1070.

The machine that Becky uses sat next to me in the office is a Dell with an upgrade - the fabulous Q6600 with SSD and 8Gb ram and is still more than adequate even for the large photoshop files we are sent for web design (we implement the sites).

I’ve got 2 Ryzen 1600 based systems, and both running at roughly the same clock speed

Phenom II 1090t @3.6 6 cores
#1 Ryzen 1600 @3.6Ghz 12 cores
#2 Ryzen 1600 @3.7Ghz 12 cores

The surprising thing is the Phenom II1090T per core performance still beats the Ryzen per core performance on BOINC tasks. It’s still a good CPU, although the one thing that lets it down is it’s power consumtion compared to the Ryzens…

My laptop is even older than me 1090T… It’s a Samsung Q35. 2008 vintage… Although not quite in “as bought spec”… The T7200 CPU got upgraded to a T7500 and the HD got replaced by an SSD. It’s now residing in Thailand though so only gets used when I’m over there…
