I just got into San Diego after a 3 hour detour to get around the fires east of here. It is now snowing ash in the parking lot, visibility is down to about 1 mile in smoke, it smells like a campfire outside and at high noon it looks like sunset. It reminds me of Mumbia (Bombay). The fires are about 40 miles away, from what I saw they are huge and have burned hundreds of homes!
I wish somebody had called me yesterday and told me about all of this and I would have just stayed home! THe Monday night football game scheduled here has been moved to Phoenix, and they are giving away free tickets to the game! :realmad: :cussing:

How are they getting on with putting them out? [/B]
Well they are moving equipment where they can but the terrain is really rough up there. They are trucking water up from about 1000ft. elevation up to 4000 ft elevation. Judging by the amount of ash and soot on my white cadillac they aren’t making much progress, Hopefully the weather may help with a shift in winds.
How stupid can people can be. A bunch of those lost homes are uninsured! OMFG!
That has to be the biggest act of stupidity! Those areas are known to be high fire danger areas and burned in the 70’s! Now they want the feds to bail them out. My tax dollars at work. I say tell them to pay for their own stupidity!
Been on Radio 2 today. Some claimed to be arson, one from a hunter letting a distress fire get out of control, and one from military training practices.
