TPR December 2006 newsletter

Hello Team Phoenix Rising Member,

With the festive season now upon us we thought it was time for a Christmas
special newsletter to inform you of the latest forums activities.

First the good news. As some of you may remember last year three forum members
MrTFWitt, Mojo and Sgt Bilko, took part in the Plymouth to Banjul charity run
in a pink chevy over the Christmas/New Year period. Well two of them, MrTFWitt
and Mojo, along with three other forum members Doubletop, Bounceout and
Bullseye have decided to do the trip again. This time in a old converted
Dutch army DAF truck painted with orange and black tiger stripes, hench
the name Tiggers travels.

This years trip will take place starting on December 26th 2006 and finish
sometime in January 2007 and same as last year is being done for the benefit
of various charities. For more information on how you can help and the many
ways you can donate please visit the special [Tiggers Travel forums](http://forums.teamphoenixrising.net/forumdisplay.php?f=74) that have
been set up to relay infomation, updates and support for the troops etc.
Alternatively you can can visit the Tiggers Travels official website [Here](http://tiggerstravels.net/)
or for donations their British Heart Foundation sponsorship page [Here](http://www.bhf.org.uk/sponsorship/sponsorpage.aspx?User=tiggerstravels&SponsorshipPageID=18106)
On behalf of the TPR Forums we would like to wish them well in their venture
and hope they all return safe and well.

Currently the Folding team is in a race to 10.5 million against
xtremesystems. We are currently in the lead but it will be a close
finish to the target, with xtremesystems calling in more support and
reinforcements from their other distributed computing teams. To help us to
achieve our goal, we are asking all Folders past and present to keep forging
ahead. New Folders are always welcome and the information can be found [Here](http://forums.teamphoenixrising.net/showthread.php?t=27209)
race information and updates can be found in any daily folding news post. If
Folding is not your thing Team Phoenix Rising has teams in numerous
Distributed Computing projects. If you feel you can help with any project
or just need assistence a wealth of DC knowledge is available on the forums.

November 2006 saw the 5th anniversary of the founding of Team Phoenix Rising.
A birthday bash to mark the occassion was held at the Lowfield Inn (Mojo's)
where the partaking of fun, food and beer was had by all who attended.
Sadly this is probably the last Mojo's in this format, due to the closure
and rebuilding of the pub in the near future. It will be sad to see it go
and we wish Martin and Bev our thanks for putting up with us all. Although
the path over the last five years has not always been smooth, a big thank
you goes to each and every forum member for making the team what it is today.

And finally, on behalf of the Administration/Moderation team I would like
to wish all members past and present a Merry Christmas and a Happy new year.

Regards, TPR Admin/Mod team

I’ve been sent this 3 times now. Once from Alta caled the TPR Christmas Newsletter and twice from ‘newsletter’ called TPR December 2006. They are all identical  :whiteflag:

Sorry about that it was sent the other night by Alta but the mail system failed down the line somwhere, it has now hopefully been fixed but a few people will have recieved a couple of copies that were sent while fixing the mail sending.

Curly

We had a few emailing issues :chuckle:

Though interesting if you got Alta’s as we thought that had failed completely.

I didn’t get any… yet :p.

Receive Admin Emails No is set in your user options Speedo, so that’ll be why

DT.

LOL… a mod declining TPR newsletters!

Thanks for the newsletter guys and the holiday wishes. Cheers!

dusts off the cobwebs and gets out the torch, guess i’ll pop in there and sort that out then :D.
