I have installed and removed sqlite more than once, if the torrentflux package is installed it tries to sonfigure itself and fails, if it’s not I get no failure but I then can’t see if it has actualy installed, just typing sqlite gets a file not found type error.

Please help.

Looks like an error in the sqlite package as downloaded - I would suggest remove all, install sqlite standalone and then retry torrentflux, but you seem to have already tried that. Dunno what to suggest I see you have already posted up on the torrentflux forums. So, I guess I can’t help much sorry.

ok, looks like a possible solution is to have the actual path to sqlite in the path, now in windows the path is set in the win.ini file, and the executable is an exe file, a simple notepad edit later and it would be added… how do I do it in lunux, and what is the extension for a linux exe file?

Linux doesn’t use .exe files. your probably looking either for a script (.sh) or no extension.

ok, so now I can find it, how do I add it to the default search path?

type whereis sqlite, most linux distros support that one.

DT.

I’ve found the file, how do I add the path to it to the default search path?

it’s in /opt/bin/

Hi Damski,

In Debian based distros you can edit the path in:

/etc/profile to add it to all users path.
/home/user/.profile to add it to individual users.
/root/.profile to add it to the root user.

thanks, I used the path command to adjust the path for that login, it gave me enough to do what needed dooing, and now it sems to be working,

still having linux issues, but hey

well it’s all sorted, the path I needed to reference to get to the second drive was ‘/share/hdd/data/HDD_1_1_1/Downloads/’

I now have a nice web based bit torrent app running on my slug downloading to a usb hard drive. most happy, now if only I could get the rss feed to work properly… LOL

Cool. Tempted to give it a whirl myself as I know torrentflux is the mutts nutts.

I’m tempted to have a go at this but the lunux bit puts me off… Would love to buy one of those popcorn hour box’s that do everything but getting one is proving a tad hard.

I was put off by the linux thing but it didn’t prove to be too horrible, just fustrating to be put back to square one, I couldn’t even get a directory listing!

Well for now i’ve gone for another popcorn hour at the moment, i’m on the waiting list now

http://www.synology.com/enu/index.php

Synology do a load of NAS devices that do all sorts. I’m tempted by one of those.

The look pricey, don’t know though…

Went to a lan with HellonIce the other day and there was a box in the server room that could handle torrents and various other things, ment to find out what it was, looks like one of those.

Scan have the DS-107 in for £120, not to much difference from the Popcorn Hour one. Torrents, NAS and even MySQL/PHP support so you can have dynamic websites!

Ahh but can you plug it into your telly and play hd content without a PC ?

No, but then I don’t have a HDTV so there’s no need for that in my house
