i have a usb headset on my windas machine (for team speak etc) it has a volume control on it that works great for the headset when under ubuntu. but under windows it only controls the master volume for the primary sound card (so music game noise films etc) and not the headset like its supposed to…
anyone got any ideas?
I believe it’s windows standard behaviour. The USB signal controls the default device, not necessarily the device it is fitted to. A workaround would be to set the USB device as default. Not sure, but believe this can be overridden by manufacturer’s software (if any).
it gets stranger tho…
i have a G15 keyboard and the volume control on that does the headset (when its plugged in) instead of the normal sound card…
im really puzzled
