Just got my truck out of the shop (hope no more people or bloody deer decide they want to mess it up again). Had a Flowtech (by Holley) Raptor 2 1/4" muffler to replace the stock one. Just unbolted the muffler and pulled it and all the pipe back to the tip out. Took the flange off the muffler so I could have the new muffler bolt up like stock. Has a nice, none ricey sound to it. Needs the exhuast pipe going out the back, as it rattles my back glass, and fumes come in when I have it open.
Definitely can feel some pickup at higher RPM’s. By my seat-of-the pants dyno, I’d say a good 7WHP. Whole lot cheaper than a aftermarket cat-back, $250, $350 if I wanted stainless.
Now I just need to get a FlowTech sticker, think that’ll add another 10WHP:p
I’ll try to get some audio/video clips soon.
