For those who have got time off, i.e. today - what you up to ??
I’m not back to work till Tuesday when I’ve got a 2.5hour commute to get to work So thats my excuse for a whole host of re-installs due to a few new bits of kit.
My shuttle is going from 120Gb to 160Gb multi op-sys for various different programming languages that don’t like being installed together. Two of my crunchers are going to 1Gb ram from 256Mb, the 120Gb from my shuttle will go into the fileserver where I keep all my development code.
Resurrecting a p2-400 to pay for the upgrades as its being sold. Then I’m going to have another shot at getting my AIW radeon to actually recognise the input from my NTL TV box. Mainly due to my video recorder making sound on recorded programs like daleks, tried new tapes so its finally died. Not bad - its 9years old !!
Monday I think we are off to Wellington country park for the customary egg hunt Kids loved that last year.
Oh and the more I think about it the more I’ve got to get done  Got to sort out a stag weekend as I’m the best man for a mates wedding. Hence the thoughts of going to Goodwood festival of speed.

Goodwoods cool but the beer’s expensive
Me… I’ve just lost an Ebay on something I really really wanted, bummer. Absolutely no other hard plans for the weekend
Oh, and I want to install a new server @ work sometime but its up & running now so should be just a matter of a few plugs and user permissions. (NOT??)
Arse - my keyboard played up and nuked my first reply
Erm… today, I will mostly be trying to organise my farm. After my unscheduled mobo death earlier this week, I’m going to retire that box and recycle the bits to bring the average spec up.
Also will have to attack lawn for first time this year. I haven’t cut my back (south facing) lawn since spring last year, so if I don’t post again within 24 hours, send a search party.

So far got up late, been shopping, finished installing software onto clients new pc, put up rotary line and hung out washing (doesn’t look quite strong enough to hang son on).
Next on the list is putting hooks onto backs of doors, plugging in new cordless phones, and thinking of cutting the grass. Trouble with moving to bigger place with bigger garden, think my poor little flymow will die halveway through cutting this lot.
Failing cutting the grass I might just lay out in the sun and read a book (fall asleep)

Now I remember why I only did it once last year. My mower has the cutting power that wouldn’t make it out of a wet paper bag. There’s bugs and more bugs everywhere. Time to call in someone to patio over the lot of it I think…
Observation about grass: It might get 'kin long if not cut over summer, but then above a height it falls over and kills itself when winter comes along. So it wasn’t that long…
I expected to spend all this weekend tracing a wiring short on the green hornet. However ten minutes with a multimeter has found nothing, the battery has been on charge for two days and even though it weighs as much as the car, hasnt goot the oomph to start it, and once I gave her a jump-start with a booster pack the old girl roared into life. Had to top up the LHM and replace two blown headlamp bulbs, but it looks like tommorrow I buy a new battery and the rest of the weekend is free
Didn’t get today off, nor Monday upcoming, but I will be spending most of this weekend in the yard working on planting and conditioning the beds. We have two huge areas that are nothing but red clay and we need to mix in soil/fertilizer combo to get anything to grow. Also need to maintenance the lawn mower to get it ready for the year. The wife already ran it once, but it desperately needs an oil change and the blade sharpened. I’ll definitely need to pick up some brew for the weekend.
Got Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues/Wed off so i’ll be having a few tipples and celebrating. Unfortunately I’m on call 24/7/365 because I’m the only person who does what I do at the company I work for:( On the up side I do a least get paid overtime for any callout I do.
easter weekend off… you mean the three weeks i have
well so far friday was spent something like this …i wouldnt moan if it was a hangover but it wasnt still feeling bad now…hopefully will be better soon as the folks are away and would like a bit of :headbang: with a good sloosh of :glug:
YEsterday was gardening. The we went our for a meal with some friends, met some other friends for a game of snooker down the club, then went to the midnight showing of 50 first dates.
