Windows 2000 Private Shares

I’m trying to setup a private share on a Windows 2K machine.

I want to be able to access it from across the network, but I want to restrict access to specific users (ie me)

I’ve got public ones setup nicely. However, I cant figure out how to setup a private one. I’ve found options to restrict to only users on that PC but I want users on different PC’s to be able to access it.

ie my account on my Eee and my main rig both accounts called “Chris” need to access the folder under the account “Chris” on the 2000 share.

first step would be to hide the share, so put a $ at the end of the share name. When you are then browsing for shares it won’t show. If you set up the file permissions to allow only you access then this will stop anyone else getting into your files, remove the evryone group, add your account, put a password on it, assign yourself full permissions.

hope that made sense
