MS have provided an, I guess, Beta of their update to windows 8, Windows 8.1 preview as a downloadable test product for you to try out.
Haven’t tried it yet, but might pop it on my old test PC for a bit of a play. Not sure what the update contains yet and they do stress that it not a finished product so might have issues with some equipment (Atom powered PCs/lappys, that sort of thing), but worth a look I guess to see if they have done enough to make Win8 better than it currently is.
