Windows Error - user32.dll

Got an MS update the other day and now when ever I turn on my laptop, I get this error.

How do I fix it? RTHDCPL.exe is the Realtek Audio Control Panel.

Uninstall, reboot a few times, and install again? And check for updated drivers?

Got the same error yesterday on a box with Realtek audio and it ain’t going away. Going to try deinstalling the realtek audio until I get a clean boot then reinstalling latest drivers  worth a try

I think the Windows Update broke it as I only started getting it yesterday after the update.

Looking for new drivers now.

EDIT:

All sorted. Downloaded the new drivers (WDM_164) and it works fine with no error messages now

MS now has a hotfix for the above problem. We ran into that with that with that latest critical update that they had. It only affected our new computers. Had no problems with our older ones.

Edited my first posted just after you’d posted.
Didn’t need the hotfix, it was fixed with a reinstall of the HD Audio Drivers from Realtek. And I didn’t uninstall them first either…

Had it on 3 machines here the other day, I just pulled the update off again.

Hmm… updates? I guess it’s that time as 35 days since my last reboot. Installing now so if you hear screaming then I just joined in the fun.
