Is a base score of 5.9 quite good?
I think that’s the maximum, or was it 6.0? The box might be ok on vista then

Only Microsoft could come up with a scale from 1.0 to 5.9… bizarre. What is the spec of this uber-rig Alta?
Maybe the same people at MS who came up with it double as figure skating judges?
Or more likely, they wanted a 1-5 scale, but let it go a bit over for future expansion. Without derating existing computers, they will need to extend it upwards sooner or later. Or are they saying hardware development is coming to and end?
The base score on my new rig is 5.2. The base score is the lowest score of the limiting piece of hardware on the computer.
Here is what can get a score and what the scores are for the new rig:
