Windows on Linux.

There are maybe a dozen must have programs I use on windows…

Macromedia Web package, Adobe graphic stuff, some MS excel for dealing with customers… etc…

Will all these run just fine under WINE? I’m getting sick of windows and would rather just stick with suse 10

you’d have to check winehq website to make sure the programs were completely compatible.

another option is get the 30 day eval of VMWare Workstation and setup a small windows Virtual Machine and install windows to the Virtual Machine. After you can uninstall Workstation and install the Free VMWare Player to run your windows Vitual OS under linux. www.vmware.com

maybe only a 5gig partition dedicated to this would be all you should need being you can have both the host linux system and the guest windows system talk over the network and store your files created and edited on the linux system via SMB. That is a real sure fire way to run specific windows based programs while under linux.

I’ve dabbled about with Qemu which I think does something similar to VMware but is free. http://forums.teamphoenixrising.net/showthread.php?t=36271
