Wine and Wine Server

I have just noticed that Wine has dropped down to 56% and wine server is around 10-14% , normally wine is around 97% and wine server is around 1-3%, this has added another hour onto the crunch times,

Can someone help as I think this is not right.

Cheers Tony

Try a restart of wine.

Does it just stay there?

Have you run top to see what else might be using resources?

Tried restart wine also nothing else using resources,

This only happens after i been crunching for a few days ,

Today it did it after it completed 5 wu’s then it started the sixth one ran slow ,completed it then the seventh the same.

I use ksetispy with 3.03 and wine and send with the linux static,

Has me beat.

The only way I have fixed it before is a complete reinstall of mandrake and wine.

This also has happen when i used Redhat 9

Could it be that my overclock is a bit high and I’m getting segmentation even though I’m Prime 95 stable under windows?

Prime95 is a good test because it doesn’t matter about the OS as the thing is written in assembler (CPU instructions) thus if it is good in windows then it is good in linux.

Can’t think for the life of me what is causing your problems.

Have you tried reinstalling just wine?

Altough prime is a good test, the memory requirements of LINUX are more demanding and may be causing the problem. Try backing off a bit. LINUX uses memory more efficently than M$

Good point.

You could try mprime of course. I was only thinking of the CPU.

I,ve tried reinstalling wine, 3.03 CLI ,ksetispy.

I,ll back my memory off a bit and reinstall redhat 9 and see how it goes.

Thanks for your help:thumbsup:

Is this what I’m after?

mprime-14.4.2-3.i386.rpm

216x11@2376 Mem 360 8-2-2-2 XP2400

After much fiddling and testing then some more testing I’ve come up with this.

198x12@2376 Mem 330 3-2-2-2 2.7V
Dual Channel

Prime 95, mprime and memtest86 stable

Dropped the vdimm from 2.9 to 2.7 dunno if that made a difference

Hopefully now some incident free crunching

Thanks to barcode and MAOJC for your help:thumbsup:

 Just a minor retweak!

Well I thought it was alright ,
came home from work today and the KDE crash handler with an error message for Ksetispy.

stop Ksetispy, wine and restart and the same problem with wine and wine server again.

wine runs at 61% and the rest of the cpu load is taken up with wine server.

Therefore I have gone from 2 hrs 10 m to
3 hrs 5 m a wu.
