Ok, I’ve just finished my last english book that I have out here which was State of Fear by Michael Crichton, so need to get a small shipping order of new stuff from amazon, and as I’m now in France, better make it worth my while, so looking to buy a good 5 - 10 books. So any suggestions please, latest reading material has been.
Biography on Stalin - Some long named git
History of Sicilian Mafia - Can’t remeber the author
Some James Joyce (forget the title)
State of Fear - Michael Crichton
A few kind words and a loaded gun - Razor Smith
The periodic table - Primo Levi
Dogs of War/The Jackal - Ohhh what’s his name?
In terms of scifi I like stuff by Julian May, Orson Scott Card, Kevin J Anderson etc, and like big books. Also like the Patricia Cornwell series of books, although I have them all now. And my favourite read of the recent past was a biography on Samuel Pepys which was very well written.
So whatcya reading, and is it any good?
Please don’t suggest David Gemmel, Greg Bear, David Brin, Tom Clancy.
The Avenger by Fredrick Forsyth is a good book. Also anything else by him is good.
Dan Brown books? Good reads. Kevin J anderson books are good. Read most of the Rouge Squadron one he’s done.
Um…
If you like sci fi, try some by auothers such as Dan Abnett. there good. Alistar Maclean is a good read as well…Ice Station Zebra is excellent as is “The Guns of Navarone”
For a bit of fun Sci-fi, try Harry Harrison’s The Stainless Steel Rat series of books. Sort of like “It Takes a Thief”, but in the future with lots of gadgets, etc…
Harry Turtledove - the Worldwar series
Dan Brown - the pictorial Da Vinci Code
Jasper Fforde - the Thursday Next series
Paul Theroux - The kingdom by the sea
Kit Chapman - An innkeepers diary
Eric Schlosser - Fast food nation
Paula Yates - Village people
Stephen Clarke - A year in the merde
Niven and Pournelle - Footfall
Done most of Dan’s Brown stuff now. Made the mistake of starting with the da vinci code. It’s definitely his best work, after da vinci code, everything else he did was dissapointing. Next best is angels and demons.
That would seem rather appropriate for where I live at the moment
Thanks to those who gave suggestions, have just spent £153.56 at Amazon.co.uk through the affiliate link.

There were some DVD’s and stuff as well before you think how expensive amazon is and decide not to buy anything there any more and TPR misses out.
Radar - I did look at more of your stuff, but most of it wasn’t for sale anymore at amazon. Like the 4 season box set of futurama which I fancied. Damn shame.
