Anyone live in or around London???

Thats a double bummer.
I should be finishing a meeting Near Canary wharf early Monday afternoon and was looking forward to a few cold ones before heading home.

You need to check whatever small print there is in your HR policies regarding work time and rest time. Ive tried going straight to work after getting off an overnight economy class flight.
Spent the day after undoing the ^&%$ ups I made while working through a caffiene haze.

LOL, boss in finalizing my project plan today so we’ll see. Maybe I can still make it. I mean, how long does it take to install 2 servers with DC/Exchange/DNS/File server/Print services?

Well, funny you should mention that.
I was told by a MS windows chap that his MS boot CD with all the latest slipstream patches and whizzy-BS takes exactly 34 minutes to build a server.

So we started at 11am
By 2pm he was doing it again.
Left at 8PM with servers installed.

Morale: If anybody quotes you a time in minutes, assume it will be slower than doing it by hand from 10 cd’s.

Seen that before. Dell DOSA CD and Windows 2003 R2 should be pretty fast on the new 2950’s.

2 x dual core 3.2 GHZ Xeons with HT. (8 procs:eek:)

Shouldn’t take too long. Part I’m worried about is we’re using a HSDPA router because BT can’t get the line in ontime. Gotta pull 50 pair up to the 13th floor. Costing 5000 quid just for that:eek:

Hello London, sitting in my hotel room on the 7th floor of the Radisson on Oxford street.

Been on the tube a few times yesterday already so feeling my way around. Been to Accton last night for a few drinks.

Time to go to Hammersmith to do some work.

Do you think you’ll make it to Mojo’s at all Juggy? Hope so :agree:

Well, luckily for me Dell can only deliver the servers on the 5th of August and BT can only start installing the cabling next week tuesday so there is a 95% chance I will make it. I do have a case of 4 config lines on a 2850 though which shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes;)

Don’t know where I’ll sleep though, can someone tell me which line I take to get to Welshpool and how I go about it? How long is the train ride? I have one of those Oyster cards and I’m going to purchase a weekly. What else must I do?

I’m not the best to advise but your looking at London Euston
to Welshpool with a train change at wolverhampton being 3ish
hrs

Wow, that’s a long trip. Around 45 quid for a return as well.

Gotta check the budget

I can pick you up from Birmingham or Wolverhampton if you need Juggy

I’ve got an airbed at mojos which will be spare if you need it Juggy  Although it won’t have a duvet or sleeping bag etc

Actually its more like 4 hrs by train. Virgin trains from Euston change either at Birmingham new street or Wolverhampton for the train to Aberystwyth(not sure of spelling  ) , at least thats my experience

'tis a nice trainride though.

Thanks Deaky, that’s very kind of you:thumbsup:

That is long. So i’ll probably leave tomorrow morning very early around 6am. Where would I go from here? Which line do I take to where then change to what:confused:

And thank you too Hids for a very kind offer.

http://www.thetrainline.com/ probably easier to look it up :).

Which line do I take to London Euston? Is it easy from Bond station?

Thanks, I had a look at the site bit it doesn’t give me a trip from Bond station. I a complete pleb when it comes to the tube system here, it’s my first time in the UK.

From Bond street take the Central line to Oxford Circus. At Oxford Circus change onto the Victoria Line to Euston station.

From there you are at the mercy of Virgin :stuck_out_tongue: Multiple trains from Euston that call at Birmingham New Street and/or Wolverhampton. Either cadge a lift with Deaky or change at either B’ham or Wolverhampton for Shrewsbury.

Sorry Juggy, I know nowt about the tube system either

Alta’s directions sound like a plan though

Looks good, I have an Oyster card witha few bob on it.

I’m looking at the 07:20 from Euston to Wolverhampton arriving at 10:09 (37.50). Would it be better for me to go directly to Shrewsbury and call the bar from there? (49.60)?

Is the correct ticket to buy the Saver Return?

Saver return is the one you want, i’d take central line(red) to Tottenham court road and change for the northern line(black) to Euston.

Im strange, i had a tube map in my pocket.
