TPR rally to achieve #1 in Docking

Bummer… aging system?

rented server being cancelled as it keeps bumming out, they’ve replaced the ram but offer a full refund if we cancel, so we’ll cancel and then order a new one  That way can be a bit more sure about the hardware. Current uptime is 53% :frowning:

Backup the boinc files and continue where you left off

53% !!! Dang…!

In view of the recent energy price increases I have decided to scale back the size of my crunching fleet to my 1055T and 955BE with occasional contributions with my HTPC… putting a mobo/cpu/memory bundle on fleabay and thinking of using the proceeds towards a half decent GPU for a bit of CUDA-based crunchiing.

I’ve reached the top 20 in Docking and don’t think I’ll get much higher, but Docking will always be my main project. I’ll just keep pottering along with an RAC of about 14K waiting for Butuz to catch me up!!!

Hehe don’t worry matey I won’t be able to catch you in a hurry!! The big iron goes back to work tonight!

What mobo CPU ram bundle will you have spare??

Cheers

It’s a Gigabyte M68M-S2P with 2x1Gb Micron Rendition (Crucial) DDR2-800 - was going to fleabay it with a XP5000 Athlon X2… and sell the Phenom X4 9550 that was fitted to it separately.

If your interested you could have it with the quad core for £75 +delivery…

Hmm thats tempting but I was really hoping for sex…

server reprovisioned, which I was told was just an imaging process and the existing hardware would just be re-used. I thought I’d re-provision as a way of wiping the data, it would appear we have some new time as we have 2.66Ghz quad in it now instead of 2.5Ghz, so it’s kept the same hostname etc, latest Fedora and Docking has kept it as the same host :woot:

Onwards to 3million

But can you catch my 955 Black? :driving:

Since dropping down to 2 crunchers, I decided to have a nosey around for similar projects to Docking but which used a CUDA client so as not to interfere with my Docking output - and I found one in GPUGRID. After running it on a 9500GT ( which only cost a tenner) I have decided to upgrade to a GTS450… All being well I’ll be getting another card within the next couple of months so both systems will be GPU crunching as well as Docking.

Sadly, looking at the team position, we are not even in the top 100 (#165)… Is anybody else willing to join me… Surely some of you can spare some GPU power to get us up into the top 100!!! The bad thing is it is currently only runs on NVIDIA cards…

One 560 on it now.

Nice one mackerel…

I guess we should start another thread for gpugrid, but anyway, threw the 450 on it also. Ball park estimate is, if other teams stops crunching, we would make it to top 100 in about 7 months… I think any movement without many more participants will be very slow.
