Excellent milestone Egad and all the other guys!! We might not be able to beat P3DNow, but at least we have the heart to keep on trying.
. Cheers for the stats Sir Landroid ![]()
Excellent milestone Egad and all the other dudes
thanks for the stats Sir Landroid
I added a M 370 Intel into Docking. First time using BIONIC Client and seems all is clicking along fine. Does it use a GPU also and what numbers would be like for a NV 9800 series?
Docking does not have a GPU app⦠at least not an Nvidia one that I know of.
Question for group. Why is Hard Drive being used so much? Also can I run to Folding Client GPU with the Docking without causing lots of heat (heat wave here in USA).
Also is this race still going on with 3DNow ?
Go into preferences in BOINC Manager and the āDisk and memory useā tab and you will find the āwrite to diskā setting⦠you can adjust that to cut down the disk usage.

I quite enjoyed the little time it was in the fray. Quite a beast that machine is/was

Greg the GPU will always generate extra heat when crunching - BOINC and Folding are able to run together, but with a few tweaks - running a Folding GPU client needs about 30% of a core to feed it but BOINC will try to allocate that to its own needs and compromise performance, BOINC will automatically reduce CPU core usage with its own multiple GPU projects but you will need to do this manually in computing preferences when running alongside FAH.
Many thanks for info everyone. Need to look into F@H and maybe moving into something else. With all these heat waves the systems have been working over time to cool and the electric bill is showing it. The Bride is looking at electric bill and I got that look. Been cooler past 2 days below 85f / 30c but the damage was done with a gulp 550 bill for last month (normal is 350) so 200 just to keep coolā¦ouch. Oh well only money but going to look at DC projects again and cost associated with for sure.
Will keep head down and moving forward.
So, team - how are we doing? I mean, I see the stats on the Docking @ Home page where they list the Top Teams, butā¦are we making any progress or no? Iāve got everything currently invested in Docking and, modestly dumping in 1950+ WU/avg. Are we gonna tip 'em at some point or is it a lost cause and wishful thinking?
Based on the drop in activity for our team and P3DN, Iād say the race is over⦠for now⦠:sneaky:
It was a good run for everyone, and Iād like to thank all the teams that contributed on our behalf! You guys & gals are awesome!! Docking won big with that massive push ![]()
Still crunching it hereā¦
So am I. In fact, the HTPC is focused on Docking, so thatās another 4 cores.
Sure I start and everyone leavesā¦LOL! Oh well already climbing the little ladder so within a few weeks Iāll be king of Single Computer working on this for TPR.
Still fun watching the numbers grow.
Sorry I am late!!!
