Working Saturday morning
Had a few of those - whats the other one’s? CAT scans? - I know one of them goes “Kerchunk, Kerchunk, Kerchunk” .
“You’ll have to remove your piercings sir” "This one? “Yes sir, that one” And this one? “Yessir, that too” How about? “Absolutely sir, particularly that one”. How about the 4 inches of metal I accidentally embedded in my left leg in a climbing accident?
That served me right. 2 hours in x-ray. “Don’t worry sir, we don’t need that leg”
How about tattoo’s? According to Mythbusters, they tattoo’s this pig and…
“Now keep still sir …”:whiteflag:
Oh, see “What Cheered Me Up Today”
Bought a puppy. Forgot at 5 weeks they’re like any other babs. Mop, bucket, mop, bucket. Thank god for laminate flooring. ![]()
Damn I hate those… I don’t care how good the ear plugs are, drives me insane! Not to mention that tight space. I have to go back next week and have another alone with a CAT. Don’t you know that is going to be a fun day.
Oh … and what annoyed me today!
Finding out Mandy’s bike is going to be up to another 20days. I have not told her yet… That will be the next thing to annoy me today:D
Finding out that the company I work for are going into consultation with the unions to reduce manpower by 800 - 1200 ( about 10% of the workforce). They say they need to make savings of over £100 million over the next 12 months.
We got taken over by an American led consortium 18 months ago… who promised no job cuts… :furious:
I should be safe… 25 years service and an essential skill.
But going to update and circulate my CV - I might be tempted to put in for voluntary terms :Plot:
Garmin sat nav annoyed me today.
When I enter a UK postcode for Swansea its because I want to go there.
Although its default setting of denying the existence of W*les could have ended up in the what amused me thread if I hadn’t been in a hurry.
Been lookiing to buy a Blu Ray player as a treat… got a bonus today…
Decided on a Sony BDP-S560 - £299 in my local Sony Shop. Bear in mind this is a 2009 model that is getting replaced by a new version.
My local Currys has in on display at £149… and in stock.
Dixons.co.uk has the same item on their website at £129.99 delivered.
Currys and Dixons are the same company and but my local store would’nt price match the Dixons price. :furious:
Result one lost sale for my local store. Shame I have to wait 6 days for delivery, but the £20 saving makes up for it.
insomnia
:furious:
Fiend- that’s odd. Maybe because it’s the same company they don’t care.
When I bought my Tom Tom from Curry’s, they price matched Halfords.

The attitude of the salesperson left a lot to be desired but it’s their loss, not mine!
Their pricing strategy was also crazy… the lower spec BDP-S360 was actually on display at £10 more than the higher Spec BDP-S560… go figure!!!
I am not in any rush to get it, so don’t mind waiting 6 days for it…
And the best thing about the Sony Blu Ray… I can multi-region it at home using a One For All remote.
Pricing strategies always make me wonder. I recently bought another 16GB USB stick from Play - I happened to notice the previous one I had had doubled in price and was now £40+ whereas the one I ended up buying (this time) was a faster, better PNY stick than the previous 16GB stick I have
A puncture, whilst doing 60 on my way home. If I hadn’t of heard it I wouldn’t have known about it though. The joys of low profile’s. The alloy is knackered now so time to try find replacement’s.

Having looked at the cost of your wheels on the bay of E…
Losing my 16gb USB key
Not having the work backed up because I didnt manage to get home with the key :sigh:
Creosote annoyed me today.
Well not your actual creosote, the water soluble shed and fence treatment nonsense, dolphin friendly and all that jazz.
Its a sort of gloopy stuff not unlike the poster paints you used to get at school and probably just as effective as preserving wood.
I bought some cedar red, thinking the dark red on the tin was remotely close to what I would be getting as a finished colour.

Which doesnt look much like this

but does almost match this

At least I did the bench before the sheds or I would find them filming the next series of Balamory at the bottom of my garden.
:furious:
Best get Holly something to match it then
Actually looking at the claims for nourishment and protection you might have been better sticking it on your table…
Trying to set up new lappy to go with the desktop. I bloody HATE networks.
Reading the acronym YBA, and wondering what it meant. So i used the new lappy and Googled it. Young British Artists - (namely Sarah Lucas) - what a sack of shit. I saw better ‘installation art’ during hangover mornings at Mojo’s. DT during his night on the ladies toilet floor exhibited greater intellect than this woman.
(Actually thats unfair on DT. His SHOES display greater intellect than Sarah Lucas).
**** **** **** - and thats my POLITE opinio of modern art
I’ve never understood why so many ‘intelligent’ people get all gooey eyed and breathless over stuff that a 3 yr old chimp could knock out in 10 minutes
… ooooh the subtle brush strokes display a symmetry only seen by the discerning eye of an art lover, the use of vibrant colours and bold outlines indicate the depth of yearning that is awesome in it’s simplicity
PISS OFF !!
If I painted a womens portrait that had 3 eyes I’d get laughed at - and rightly so
Learning that everyone is putting up their prices again! ♫ Lets make lots of money!!!/It’s a mad world!
Finding out DiskLock anti-theft steering locks do not fit on Quartic steering wheels
